Youth Club Turns K40,000 Grant into Thriving Fish Farming Success

A youth-led initiative is making waves after transforming a K40,000 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) grant into a growing fish farming enterprise.

The Garden Youth Club recorded an impressive 89 kilograms of fish during their first harvest, marking a strong start to their aquaculture project. Demonstrating smart planning and sustainability, the group reinvested in their project by restocking 400 fingerlings from their own stock, while leaving some fish in the pond to continue growing.

Encouraged by this success, the club has now expanded from one to two fish ponds, increasing their production capacity and strengthening their income-generating potential.

The project stands as a powerful example of how youth-driven initiatives, when supported with the right resources, can create sustainable livelihoods and inspire community development.
